چکیده

Abstract As part of developing a routine potato cultivars resistance test to Meloidogyne chitwoodi , both the effect nematode density ( P i) and pot size on growth, tuber yield, quality infestation level were studied in glasshouse conditions. The study was carried out four experiments using cv. Desiree as control seven genotypes with single gene M. 1 genotype, Globodera pallida . Plants inoculated ranges i from 0.0625 256 J2 (g dry soil) ?1 log series. Haulm height, starch matter content (SDC) recorded. Additionally, harvested tubers experiment 2 stored for 240–300 days estimate actual at planting when used seed subsequent season. height positively affected increasing i’s negatively decreasing size. yield not ; they can be considered tolerant, having relative minimum m = 1. Three showed < 0.8, latter varying between 0.67 0.80 over sizes. reduction SDC equalled that indicating had no extra content. Quality, expressed tuber-knot index (TKI), accepting ware potatoes processing, below 10 all genotypes, except 2011M1. TKI values genotype MDG2 > 20 are accepted processing. fraction clean resistant significantly increased 91% compared 8% MDG2. Tuber infestation, number juveniles per gram soil after storage, regression averaged 0.35 while tested provided ca 0.002

Resistance of Diploid Triticeae Species and Accessions to the Columbia Root-knot Nematode, Meloidogyne chitwoodi.

The Columbia root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne chitwoodi race 2, is associated with several plant species, including members of the tribe Triticeae. We evaluated 15 diploid species for M. chitwoodi gall and reproductive indices from the following genera: Agropyron, Pseudoroegneria, Hordeum, Psathyrostachys, and Thinopyrum. Species from the genus Thinopyrum (Thinopyrum bessarabicum; J genome) and ...

Description and SEM Observations of Meloidogyne chitwoodi n. sp. (Meloidogynidae), a Root-knot Nematode on Potato in the Pacific Northwest.

Meloidogyne chitwoodi n. sp. is described and illustrated from potato (Solanum tuberosum) originally collected from Quincy, Washington, USA. This new species resembles M. hapla, but its perineal pattern is basically round to oval with distinctive and broken, curled, or twisted striae around and above the anal area. The vulva is in a sunken area devoid of striae. Vesicles or vesicle-like structu...

Independent resistant reactions expressed in root and tuber of potato breeding lines with introgressed resistance to Meloidogyne chitwoodi.

Resistance to Meloidogyne chitwoodi was introgressed from Solanum bulbocastanum into the cultivated gene pool of potato. A single dominant gene is responsible for resistance to race 1 reproduction on the root system. An additional form of resistance was discovered in certain advanced backcross clones. A BC(5) clone, PA99N82-4, resisted invasion of tubers by available nematode juveniles whether ...

G. peratica females become swollen and rema...

Terpenoid aldehydes in cotton roots susceptible and resistant to the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita.

We investigated the role of terpenoid aldehydes in the resistance of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) to the root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita). Three-day-old, root-knot-resistant ('Auburn 623') and -susceptible ('Deltapine 16') seedlings were inoculated with M. incognita. Comparable portions of inoculated and noninoculated roots were harvested 2, 4, 7, and 10 days later. Terpenoid aldehydes...
